About Legacy Training Inc.

Legacy Training Inc. is a community-centred non-profit based in Marion, Illinois. Its mission is to "alleviate poverty of the mind, body and spirit" by working with subject-matter experts to bring health, arts and humanities resources to historically underserved communities. Its work rests on three pillars: promote health, expand the arts and advance the humanities.

The brief

A non-profit website has several jobs at once: explain the mission, show the programmes in action, promote upcoming events and make donating easy. Legacy needed a single, welcoming site that does all of this and reflects the organisation's values of leadership, excellence and innovation.

What I built

• Mission-first homepage. Opens with Legacy's calling and its three foundational pillars, so visitors understand what the organisation stands for within seconds.
• Programmes and stories. Sections that showcase initiatives such as the "Our Lives, Our Stories" women's health event, putting real community impact front and centre.
• Upcoming events. A clear events area with dates and times, so the community knows what is coming up and how to take part.
• Donations. A "Make a Lasting Impact" section with a simple path to donate via PayPal, plus links to the organisation's YouTube channel.
• Brand story. Space for the meaning behind Legacy's logo, a contemporary take on the Nyansapo "Wisdom Knot", a West African Adinkra symbol of wisdom and ingenuity.

Why it works

People support non-profits they understand and trust. Leading with the mission, backing it with real programmes and events, and keeping the donate button close at hand turns a visit into involvement, whether that means attending an event, sharing a story or giving.
